The Cook Islands: 30 pictures from Aitutaki and Rarotonga

With a population of about 20,000 people the Cook Islands are only a small part of the island country New Zealand. But this part is a self-governing parliamentary democracy in free association with NZ – beacuse of the beautifull beaches and landscape tourism is the leading element of the economy. My friend and photographer Jan travelled this paradise 2 years ago and came back with a bunch of real stunning pictures from Aitutaki and Rarotonga.

This Album features a selection of images of Jan's holiday on the Cook Islands in September/ October 2009. He and his wife spend two amazing weeks there – starting with some days on Rarotonga, having a relaxing time on Aitutaki and getting back to Rarotonga to catch the flight back home:

When everyday life becomes dominated by stress and hecticness I try to remind myself of the feelings I had standing there on the beach, listening to the sound of the waves.
