About “Amazing 2012”

Hamburg - the start of my travel video series in Europe
Hamburg – the start of my travel video series in Europe
2012 was the year I started to become a professional Travel Video Blogger: I quit my Job as Usability and Social Media Consultant after 9 years and began working as a Freelancer in November. Everything started with my new GoPro camera in January: I went to produce my first HQ Episodes of my Travel Video Show in Europe and chose my hometown Hamburg to start. In the end I produced 5 Videos in Hamburg to show the diversity with the port, the old Warehouse district, the new quarter with modern architecture named Hafencity and the frozen Alster lake.
Berlin by Bike
Berlin – my place of birth and one of my other stops in Germany
I continued in Germany with Berlin, Essen and some summer events in Hamburg. In April I joined a group of Snowboarders to enjoy riding the slopes in the french alps. In May I was in need for some sun, tapas and spanish lifestyle – I booked a ticket to Madrid, went to a football match, relaxed in the parks, experienced great views and tasted nice churros.
Lviv panorama
Lviv – my home for more than 1 week for Euro 2012
The summer was packed with loads of social activities: I went to my first big project with a Tourism Board to the Euro 2012 in Ukraine. In the beautiful city of Lviv I produced 9 video episodes (in german) in cooperation with Visit Denmark and DBU. I really loved the city – it was a big surprise!
Couchsurfing Event in Hamburg

In August we organized the first big Couchsurfing Event in Hamburg with around 300 participants – we have been sooo lucky because we chose the best summer weekend of the whole year. All the people who participated were super friendly and fun: we made city tours, relaxed at the beach club, danced at an awesome party, ate fishrolls at the fish market and finished with a big bbq at the Elbe beach.
Innercity of Porto
Autumn was the time for Goodbyes and one of the biggest changes in my life: I quit my Job and decided to travel the world. In September I attended the TBU Travel Blogging conference in Porto to figure out how to improve my Blog and earn money with the stuff I'm doing. Moreover we discovered the north of Portugal and tasted great wine in the Porto area.
From Porto I was heading to Barcelona and Girona for another Travel Blogging conference: TBEX Europe. Again I produced videos: “Barcelona in one day” was my first one with another fellow travel blogger.

At the beginning of November I spent my last days in Europe in the city of London from where I boarded my plane to South America.
Plaza de Armas
Cusco, Peru – starting point for great hikes!
Peru has been my first country: Lima, Cusco, Puno have been the stops before I crossed the border to Bolivia at the beginning of December. After Copacabana, La Paz and some amazing days in the Uyuni I crossed the next border and made a short visit in San Pedro de Atacama, Chile. Argentina is my last country in 2012 – after a few days in Salta I traveled to Buenos Aires where I attended a great Couchsurfing XMas Dinner and had some smashing partys.
The trip through Uyuni was great for amazing views and funny pics

Now I'm sitting in my Hostel in Buenos Aires and look forward to a great New Years Party and I'm curious what 2013 has to offer. By producing this Round-Up I realized how much diverse stuff I did during the last months without being rich and I'm thankfull for all this possibilities.

Thank you for following me an my stories and the best for all of you in 2013!
