Top 5 Travel Videos of March – Monthly Travel Video Roundup

A few weeks ago i started this series to present you my 5 favorite travel related videos of each month. Since that post a lot of new phantastic videos were published in march – time for the next part!

1. I Love People: 5,000 Miles, 930 People, 162 Seconds

hitchhiking the USA
Stop motion travel video – Benjamin took a lot of photos of himself with people he met on his tour
“… Some people dream of sitting on a beach in Tahiti or sailing around the world.
Benjamin’s travel dream was to hitchhike around the USA for a year (his Nana thought it was a pretty curious dream as well).
He wanted to meet people from all walks of life and learn about the world through a simple adventure.
The video took 3 months to shoot and 2 years to create (although Benjamin’s a hitchhiker and wasn’t slaving away for 12 hours a day or anything :). …” (from Vimeo Channel)

2. 1 Second Everyday – Age 30

USA – mostly New York
On his 30th birthday, Cesar Kuriyama quit his job in advertising. At the same time, he started a project: “One Second Every Day” for which he cuts together one second of footage from every day of his life into an ever-expanding project.
“… I am recording 1 second everyday for the rest of my life… this is me at age 30.
I spent a couple of years saving enough money to be able to take a frugal year off from work my entire 30th year of life… I spent it doing all the important things I never had enough time for… travel, my own creative projects, & family. …” (from Vimeo Channel)

3. Frame of Mind

Video inspired by opening scene from Modern Family and the HP commercials from a while back.
“… Ben and I taking photos in different locations in Hawaii. …” (from Vimeo Channel)

4. About Bangkok

Bangkok, Thailand
Phantastic storytelling of what it is like to spend a day in Bangkok

5. Tiny Capital

Oslo, Norway
“… The production of this video was made out of 76 940 single photos, edited as a video after a lot of work. The video was filmed under the warmest march month ever in Oslo. I have never been on so many rooftops as I had the week I filmed this, a really fun experience. I used tilt-shift lenses to create the miniature effect. …”
“… Norway has recently reached 5 million inhabitants and the capital is growing rapidly. The city scene in Oslo is steadily thickening with taller buildings, more people and the never-ending construction sites. Being by far the most populated city in Norway with 613 000 inhabitants, most Norwegians look to Oslo as a major capital. However, if one compares Oslo to other international capitals, Oslo only ranks as the 112th largest. Oslo is indeed a major capital, just a small one …” (from Authors Blog)
